Very beautiful Renaissance prose. Before I started reading cover to cover I selected individual stories from the synopsis in the front of the book. Readers in the UK may find some of its Americanisms off-putting.

Get it......you won't be sorry. It's no surprise to say there is sexual content in the Decameron, but to say it is explicit overlooks the wonderfully clever circumlocutions relating to such subjects.

Some of the phrases included have obviously not been checked for correct context - 'my first kids' instead of 'my youth' for example - and many words don't even exist in English 'beseemeth' and 'certes'.
